Victims of the United National Movement’s (UNM) rule are holding a protest rally at the Norwegian Embassy in Tbilisi.
The protesters slam ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili’s awarding Prize for Democracy and Human Rights in Norway.
Tornike Molashvili, a brother of late convicted Sulkhan Molashvili (ex-chair of the Chamber of Control, who died in prison), said that Saakashvili’s regime claimed the lives of many people.
Former prisoner Nana Kadagishvili said that Norwegian people insulted Georgians and demanded an explanation from the ambassador.
“The government should hold former UNM officials accountable for everything they deserve. The government should do it, or the people will do it,” she said.
Mikheil Saakashvili was awarded in absentia the Sjur Lindebrække Prize for Democracy and Human Rights in Norway.
