“We have received several applications from international companies expressing interest in the Anaklia port, and we are now considering them,” stated Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili, during a briefing following the Cabinet meeting on Monday.
Davitashvili mentioned that specific compliance criteria were required from the companies.
“Unfortunately, we cannot provide further information to the public at this stage. However, our agency is working diligently to process these applications. We have received applications from significant international companies,” said Davitashvili.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated that the Anaklia Port construction would involve the state with a 51% share, while the remaining 49% would be subject to an international tender.
