US Senator Jeanne Shaheen and Congressman Mike Turner visited the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) within the framework of their Georgia visit.
According to the statement released by the US Embassy in Georgia on its Facebook page, the United States continues to call on Russia to fulfill its obligations under the 2008 ceasefire agreement and UN Charter.
“Sixteen years have passed since Russia invaded Georgia. Russia’s ongoing occupation and borderization of twenty percent of Georgian territory continues to undermine Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and continues to impact Georgians to this day.
Senator Shaheen and Congressman Turner traveled to view the ABL. The United States continues to call on Russia to fulfill its obligations under the 2008 ceasefire agreement and UN Charter,” reads the statement.
