US Ambassador to OSCE tags statements made by Russia about laboratories in Georgia and Ukraine as ‘misinformation’

US Permanent Ambassador to the OSCE, James Gilmore described the statements made by Russia about laboratories in Georgia and Ukraine as ‘misinformation.’

Gilmore responded to the statement made by Aleksandr Lukashevich, Russia’s permanent representative in OSCE who said that closed experiments with hazardous pathogens were conducted in labs of Georgia and Ukraine.

According to Gilmore, Georgia and Ukraine were making joint efforts for conducting peaceful researches in revealing COVID-19 infection and creation of vaccines against the virus.

“We congratulate Georgia and Ukraine for their progress in science and their efforts to make the world safer and peaceful. The presumption that something is conducted secretly in Georgia, Ukraine or somewhere else is strange, frankly speaking, and such a message will not be acceptable for the Russian population, which like others, is suffering from coronavirus,” Gilmore said.

The US Ambassador to OSCE added that any progress reached in struggle against the pandemic would be encouraging for everyone in the world including for Russian people.
