US Ambassador meets Transparency International - Georgia representatives

The US Ambassador to Georgia, Robin Dunnigan, met with representatives of Transparency International – Georgia, the US Embassy reported.

“Ambassador Dunnigan met with Transparency International – Georgia to discuss the United States’ unwavering support for civil society and the organization’s work in support of Georgia’s democratic development and its EU candidate status. The meeting also covered frequent reports of unacceptable persecution and physical attacks on civil society, opposition activists, and journalists. The US Embassy calls for full, independent, and timely investigation into reports of violence, regardless of the victims,” the embassy said in its statement.
