UNM's Bokuchava: Sole rational demand is new elections managed by int'l commission
Tina Bokuchava, chair of the United National Movement, underscored the necessity of opposition unity in rejecting the legitimacy of Georgia’s recent parliamentary elections.
In her remarks on the electoral process, Bokuchava emphasized that the opposition will renounce parliamentary mandates and noted the crucial role of the president in their initiatives.
“The only rational demand is to hold new elections administered by an election commission staffed with international actors,” she stated.
Bokuchava also highlighted ongoing coordination with President Salome Zourabichvili, with further discussions scheduled at the presidential palace.
“These elections were not merely falsified; they were completely hijacked. Holding re-elections, overseen by international participants rather than the CEC controlled by Kalandarishvili and the SSG, is the only way to ensure that the will of the Georgian people is truly reflected,” Bokuchava concluded.
