Tina Bokuchava, the chair of the National Movement party, emphasized the importance of opposition unity ahead of elections in Georgia.
“As for the configurations, you’re aware of the Brussels Declaration on opposition unity, signed by the United National Movement along with five other opposition parties. We’ve emphasized the importance of a unified opposition front for these critical, almost referendum-like elections, and we’re committed to directing all efforts toward achieving this unity in the coming days.
However, based on decisions from other parties and political leaders, if they choose to maintain their current configurations, the UNM will enter the elections to win. We will do so under the 5 numbers, leveraging our party’s strong regional infrastructure, which is admittedly the strongest within the opposition field.
Regardless of the configuration, we are preparing to unveil new initiatives. We aim to present significant proposals to the citizens of Georgia, as we believe this is crucially important,” Bokuchava said.
