UNM starts cars march from Tsalenjikha demanding Saakashvili's release
A march of cars demanding the release of Georgia’s jailed ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili took off from Tsalenjikha, the opposition United National Movement party reported.
UNM representatives, including Mikheil Saakashvili’s personal envoy Sopo Japaridze, Tsalenjikha Mayor Gia Kharchilava, and United National Movement MP Temur Janashia, intend to deliver a petition to the Administration of President Salome Zourabichvili.
According to Janashia, the petition contains hundreds of thousands of signatures advocating for Saakashvili’s release.
“We hope the President will take a worthy step because today this step is needed by the country, the European future, the revival of the country’s economy, the return of people to the country, and for Georgia to become attractive to the world again and again,” he declared.
