Georgia’s ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili has been invited to the 2024 European People’s Party (EPP) Congress in Bucharest on March 6-7, the opposition United National Movement party reported.
Manfred Weber, the President of the European People’s Party, sent an invitation letter to Saakashvili.
“We are delighted to extend our invitation to you for the 2024 Congress of the European People’s Party, taking place in Bucharest on March 6-7. Co-hosted by Romania’s National Liberal Party, this congress will play a pivotal role in preparing for the upcoming European elections. The agenda will feature the presentation of the EPP candidate for the presidency of the European Commission and the adoption of the EPP election manifesto. Beyond these topics, the Congress offers a unique opportunity for our entire political family to gather, fostering discussions on resolutions, changes to statutes, and the central themes of the election campaign,” the letter notes.
