The United National Movement (UNM) party members and supporters have rallies today near the President’s residence demanding the pardon for Georgia’s former President Mikheil Saakashvili.
The protesters believe the incumbent President can change “the existing tense situation with a reconciliation policy.”
UNM member Givi Baramidze claims, “Bidzina Ivanishvili [GD founder, ex-PM] and State Security Service (SSG) rules everything. Salome Zourabichvili or the Court fulfil their order.”
UNM’s Zaal Udumashvili added that “Salome Zourabishvili has the levers to release Saakashvili, and she should do so if she thinks state wise.”
