UNM member urges opposition not to break unity

Nugzar Tsiklauri, a member of the opposition United National Movement, urged the opposition not to factionalize the opposition unity by statements or actions.

Tsiklauri commented on the initiative of Girchi and Citizens parties on the local self-governance elections.

According to the UNM member, the opposition is clear about its common standpoint and is waiting for the ruling party’s response.

“Any attempt to shift the focus will be futile. If the negotiations fail, the country will appear in a deep political crisis that will lead the government to the gravest consequence,” Tsiklauri claimed.

According to Nugzar Tsiklauri, Georgia will not have a multi-party parliament even if anyone else takes up the mandates. He said the entry of several members of the Alliance of Patriots did not actually change the situation.

Based on the initiative of Girchi and Citizens opposition parties, early parliamentary elections must be appointed in Georgia if the opposition wins in the local self-governance elections.
