We demand that young people be allowed into the parliament, said Sofo Japaridze, the personal representative of Mikheil Saakashvili [Georgia’s jailed ex-president], at the rally against the draft law on Transparency of Foreign Influence outside the parliament.
Japaridze emphasized that the actions of the ruling Georgian Dream party are jeopardizing everyone’s future.
“We urge for the youth to be granted access. We are not simply requesting entry; we are demanding that these young individuals, who are tirelessly advocating for a better future for themselves and our nation, be permitted to enter.
They fear these young people the most. Therefore, we demand that they allow them in, face them, and provide answers to their questions. Their unwillingness to do so stems from fear,” Japaridze stated.
The Legal Issues Committee is discussing the draft law on the Transparency of Foreign Influence in its first reading.
