UNM Chair urges President to pardon jailed Mtavari Arkhi Director

President Salome Zourabichvili can pardon jailed Mtavari Arkhi (Main Channel) TV Director Nika Gvaramia, thus fulfilling one of the EC’s 12-point recommendations, said Levan Khabeishvili, Chairman of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) party.

The UNM Chair believes that President should take a “concrete step in the country’s interests.”

“Salome Zourabichvili should prove that she is the President of Georgia not only by words but with behavior and this instrument is in her hands. Therefore, she should take a concrete step, which serves our country’s interests,” Khabeishvili said.

A rally was held at the Orbeliani Presidential Residence with the demand to release jailed Nika Gvaramia, Director of the Mtavari Arkhi (Main Channel) TV.
