UNM Chair says Vivamed's statement confirms ex-president's life in danger
The statement of the Vivamed Clinic confirms that ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili’s life is in danger, said Levan Khabeishvili, Chairman of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) party.
The UNM Chair called for rallying on April 9 at Rustaveli Avenue to demand the release of political prisoners, freedom for Mikheil Saakashvili and Georgia’s EU integration.
“Let’s not forget that the weapon of victory is in the hands of our people. Therefore, on April 9, at 17 pm, on the main avenue of the country – Rustaveli, it is important to gather for political prisoners, for the freedom of Misha and for the European integration of our country,” said Levan Khabeishvili.
On March 22, Vivamed Clinic requested the penitentiary institution to evaluate the feasibility of Saakashvili’s continued stay in the facility.
“The symptomatic treatment to which the patient consents is possible in any other facility,” Vivamed said in its statement.
