UNM Chair raises concerns over high prices, emphasizes need for change in 2024
Levan Khabeishvili, the chair of the opposition United National Movement, has highlighted the daily challenges faced by the Georgian population, specifically addressing the high basic consumption product prices.
He expressed concern that the majority of people are struggling to provide for their families due to increased prices. Khabeishvili emphasized that the prices of essential goods have risen significantly, affecting the lives of citizens.
“Holding a receipt in one hand and the purchased products in the other, I can confidently affirm that prices have significantly increased, impacting the cost of living for our citizens. Today, we are sending this receipt and the price list to Ivanishvili and Kobakhidze at the Government Chancellery. They must understand that they bear the responsibility, as the political manoeuvres they are engaged in are of no interest to our population,” he declared.
Additionally, Khabeishvili compared the prices of these products in Georgia to neighbouring countries, emphasizing that they are more expensive locally. Khabeishvili attributed the high prices to the enrichment of certain individuals, suggesting a need for a change in 2024 to ensure the well-being of the people.
