UNM Chair promises to push for rapid EU membership for Georgia after October 26 victory
Tina Bokuchava, Chairperson of the opposition United National Movement, emphasized the party’s commitment to pursuing EU membership if they win the elections on October 26.
“Once we win the elections on October 26, we will initiate negotiations to join the European Union, aiming for Georgia to become a proud EU member as quickly as possible so every Georgian citizen can proudly hold a European passport,” she stated.
Bokuchava outlined the benefits of EU membership, including European pensions, salaries, and education. She criticized the 12-year rule of Bidzina Ivanishvili for allegedly hindering Georgia’s path to Europe and promised that her party would work to reestablish a European perspective for the country.
“European membership means European prosperity, security, and a high standard of living. We must decide if we want to continue under the current administration, which has led to international isolation and economic hardship, or if we want a future where every Georgian benefits from European living standards,” said Bokuchava.
