Chairman of the United National Movement (UNM) party, Tina Bokuchava, Foreign Secretary, Zurab Chiaberashvili, and Head of the UNM Foreign Department, Irakli Kavtaradze are attending the political assembly of the European People’s Party in Brussels.
Tina Bokuchava met with Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, “who anew confirmed her support for the European choice of the Georgian people and expressed her desire to visit Georgia,” according to the UNM press office.
“UNM leaders are holding meetings with European politicians so that the interests of the Georgian people in the European Union are fully protected,” said the press office.
“These days, all EU members are fully aware that Georgia has a window of opportunity to seize and open negotiations on joining the European Union. Georgia and the Georgian people, however, will not be able to take advantage of this opportunity under Ivanishvili’s government. For this reason, everyone recognises the significance of the elections slated for October 26 and peaceful change of government,” said Tina Bokuchava.
