UNM Chair: If gov't truly backed democracy, they would have joined Democracy Festival

If the government were genuinely interested in upholding the foundations of democracy, they would not have declined to take part in the ‘Democracy Festival’, stated Tina Bokuchava, chair of the opposition United National Movement, while responding to the journalist’s question.

Bokuchava stressed that the festival organizers had personally invited several government representatives, including those from Ivanishvili’s party.

“Organizers confirmed that a personal invitation was sent to several government officials, including those from Ivanishvili’s party. The purpose of the Democracy Festival is to inform citizens about the programs of political parties aimed at addressing the issues faced by the citizens of Georgia,” Bokuchava stated.
