UNM Chair: Georgians will choose Europe over Russia, prosperity over poverty, unity over division in October
Tina Bokuchava, the Chair of the opposition United National Movement party, emphasized the significance of the letter sent by US President Joe Biden to the President of Georgia, highlighting that it was dated August 7.
During a briefing, Bokuchava pointed out that this timing underscores the global consensus that Russia initiated the war and is the occupier of Georgian territories. She condemned any attempts to promote alternative narratives, stating that they align with Russian interests and are efforts to rewrite Georgian history in favour of Vladimir Putin.
“Ivanishvili’s pro-Russian government cannot rewrite Georgia’s recent history to bolster the Russian narrative. By adopting Russian laws, it cannot strip Georgia of its future, which I firmly believe will be European. The Georgian people are the guarantors of this future. I am confident that on October 26, they will choose Europe over Russia, prosperity over poverty brought by Ivanishvili, and unity over the division,” Bokuchava stated.
