UNM Chair Bokuchava: Too early to discuss coalition government composition
Tina Bokuchava, Chairperson of the National Movement, responded to President Salome Zourabichvili’s recent statement about having her own candidate for the position of Prime Minister in the event of a coalition government. Bokuchava stated that it is premature to discuss government composition, as this topic has not been widely addressed in the political spectrum.
“We have received a proposal from President Zourabichvili for consultations, and we are ready for such discussions. As a signatory of the Georgian Charter, which serves as a guide for Georgia’s EU integration, we consider this process very important. However, it is too early to talk about the staffing of the government at this stage,” Bokuchava said.
She added that a coalition government would be a new chapter for Georgia and expressed her belief that a multi-party coalition would facilitate the country’s path to the European Union.
