UNM Bokuchava: European partners echo street protests, call for repeal of 'Russian Law'
“Our European friends are delivering a clear and direct message, echoing the voices we’ve heard on the streets of Tbilisi. They call on Ivanishvili [Georgian Dream Honorary Chair] to repeal the Russian law that obstructs our country’s European aspirations,” Tina Bokuchava, the chair of the United National Movement parliamentary faction, stated.
“Our European friends openly state that if the Russian law is enacted, Georgia will be unable to initiate negotiations for EU membership. This would render our candidate status, earned through the efforts of the Georgian people, useless as we would be unable to leverage it to commence negotiations,” said Tina Bokuchava.
The parliamentary and non-parliamentary opposition today has held meetings with the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Bundestag, the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Lithuanian Parliament, and a member of the Finnish Parliament.
