Unity-National Movement's Vashadze promises uncompromising protests
Giorgi Vashadze, a leader of the Unity-National Movement coalition, pledged that holding uncompromising protests is a key component of the opposition’s strategy. This strategy also includes gathering evidence of electoral fraud and rejecting the election results both domestically and internationally.
According to Vashadze, a significant portion of the Georgian population does not accept the outcomes of the parliamentary elections held on October 26. He invited citizens to participate in the protest scheduled for November 4 on Rustaveli Avenue at 7 p.m.
“The battle will continue until the end, uncompromising as we strive to rid ourselves of this regime. We also demand an international investigation, as national investigative bodies are implicated in perpetrating this organized crime. I am awaiting a response from the Georgian Dream regarding their willingness to accept an international, impartial investigation. If they refuse, it would indicate their involvement in organized crime,” he stated.
Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the United States Department of State, expressed hope that Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili could provide information about the alleged irregularities in the October 26 elections that would be “relevant to any investigation.”
