Unique edition of “The Knight in the Panther's Skin" to be displayed at the Frankfurt Book Fair
At the initiative of the Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze, a unique handmade edition of the Georgian famous poem “The Knight in the Panther’s Skin” by Shota Rustaveli will be displayed at the Frankfurt Book Fair as a unique masterpiece of Georgian culture on 9 October. The cover of the book is decorated by a well-known Georgian sculptor Guji Amashukeli.

The unique edition for the UN headquarters’ art collection was created by a group of artists and calligraphers in Tbilisi and Paris in 2017-2018.
The project was developed by the Art Development Fund (IMT), the author of the idea is Ia Khurtsidze.
The painting belongs to are Sophio Kintsurashvili and Tamaz Varvaridze. Calligraphers are: Davit Maisuradze, Giorgi Sisauri, Nino Ikashvili, Ana Gokadze and Levan Tskviravashvili.
The decorative cover, created by Guji Amashukeli, is made from silver and more than 20 types of precious stones. Georgian sculptor Guji Amashukeli, who lives in France, is known to the world as Goudji.
In the nearest future, the unique edition will be sent and stored at UN Headquarters’ Art Collection in New York.
