Unemployment rate in Georgia reaches historical minimum, gov't says

In the second quarter of 2024, the unemployment rate in Georgia reached a historical minimum, the Government of Georgia said on Monday.

According to the government’s press office, the rate fell by 3.1 percentage points from the second quarter of the previous year to 13.7%.

The number of hired employees increased by 19.1 thousand persons (2.1%) and reached 935.8 thousand, while the number of self-employed – by 41.3 thousand (10.1%) and equaled 451.5 thousand,” reads the statement.
