Ukrainian MFA condemns "presidential elections" in occupied Tskhinvali Region
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry “strongly” condemns the so-called presidential elections held in the occupied Tskhinvali Region/South Ossetia on Sunday.
In its statement, the Ukrainian MFA said, “the illegal so-called elections aimed at legitimizing Russia’s occupation of Georgia’s sovereign territory and goes against the international law.”
“Amid Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, Russia’s illegal voting in the occupied territories of Georgia could significantly worsen the security situation in the Black Sea region and create further grounds for new aggression against Georgia,” the Ministry stressed.
