Julia Susliak, a Ukrainian citizen who arrived in Georgia together with 10 juveniles and is charged for trafficking, has been imposed to imprisonment. Judge Maka Gvelesiani satisfied the demand of the Prosecutor’s Office. The pre-trial sitting is scheduled for July 20.
The Ukrainian woman arrived in Georgia on April 8 together with 10 children from Russia. She attempted to enter the territory of occupied Abkhazia region. Law-enforcers became interested in the case after the children were intoxicated with food and were transferred to a hospital in Zugdidi town.
Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that Ukrainian citizen has been arrested for child trafficking in Georgia. The suspicion was caused by the fact that four out of 10 children are born in 2017. The woman denies the charge and claims that she is the mother of these children.
The Ukrainian woman faces prison term from 14 to 17 years if convicted.
