U17 World Wrestling Championships: Georgia's Konstantine Petriashvili in finals
Freestyle wrestler Konstantine Petriashvili will compete in the finals of the U17 World Wrestling Championships in Amman, Jordan.
He is the only athlte from 5 wrestlers who qualified for the finals by defeating Aliaksei Khadunou (AIN) with a score of 14:4.
Freestyle wrestler Nikoloz Maisuradze (80 kg) will compete in the finals against Reza Afshar from Iran for the Gold Medal. Gigia Lukunidze (110 kg) and Temur Tutarashvili (48 kg) and Rati Revazishvili (65 kg) will fight for the Bronze Medals.
At the world championships in the Greco-Roman style of wrestling, the Georgian team won three medals. Vakhtang Lolua (60 kg) secured the title of Vice-Champion, while Giorgi Aladashvili (71 kg) and Vladimer Minadze (92 kg) won Bronze medals.
The U17 World Wrestling Championships 2024 are being contested at the Princess Sumaya Bint al-Hasan Arena in Amman, Jordan. The annual tournament will run from August 19-25.
