National Defense Budget bill: U.S. should strengthen Georgia's support in security sector

The United States should strengthen Georgia’s support in the security sector – U.S. National Defense Budget bill for 2019 reads.

The document speaks about defence lethal assistance, “which is aimed at strengthening Georgia’s defence capabilities and readiness, as well as to improve the compatibility of Georgia’s military forces to NATO standards.”

The draft law also notes that Georgia and Ukraine should be involved in the trainings planned in the Black Sea.

In addition, according to document U.S. plans to allocate $250 million in security assistance to Ukraine; $50 million should be directed to lethal weapons.
