U.S. citizens working for foreign oil companies in Basra preparing to leave the country, Reuters reports after a U.S. airstrike killed Iranian Quds Force leader Qassem Soleimani.

The U.S. embassy in Baghdad urged all citizens to depart from Iraq immediately.

As Iraqi officials claim, the evacuation would not affect operations, production or exports.
