Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday said he had a ‘fruitful’ meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
In a joint press point with Georgian PM, Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
“I am very happy to host the Prime Minister of Georgia, Mr. Irakli Kobakhidze, and his delegation in Ankara. Once again I would like to congratulate the friendly Georgian nation on Independence Day [May 26] in advance.
I once again supported the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and prosperity [of Georgia]. Also, I expressed my continued support for [Georgia’s] path to Euro-Atlantic institutions.
I was grateful that you [Kobakhidze] shared your thoughts on current developments in Georgia. In Turkey, we think that these events will be addressed in the best interests of the Georgian people,” Erdogan said.
