The Turkish Embassy in Georgia celebrated National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.
According to the embassy, the great leader of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, opened the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on April 23 to mark the day with children.
Today, the representatives of the Turkish embassy laid flowers at the bust of Ilia Chavchavadze, which is located next to the embassy building.
“April 23 is a symbol of the struggle for Turkish independence and national sovereignty. Therefore, we want to honour the memory of Ilia Chavchavadze, a Georgian poet and public figure who fought for the identity of Georgia,” the embassy said.
April 23 is National Sovereignty and Children’s Day celebrated every year in Turkey, in missions abroad, in all organizations and schools. The purpose of this celebration is to establish friendships, peace and love between children.
