TEXSOM hosts Georgian Wine tasting

The Georgian wine tasting was held within the framework of the TEXSOM Texas Sommelier Conference, the National Wine Agency reported.

Approximately 70 Georgian wines were on display with the support of Colangelo & Partners, the Wine Agency’s American contractor marketing company.

TEXSOM was founded in 2005 as the Texas Sommelier Conference to help promote professional wine service standards and outline paths for further beverage production.

Since 2014, the annual international wine competition has been added to the conference, the jury of which includes wine professionals and sommeliers from different countries of the world.

The activities of the Georgian National Wine Agency have significantly contributed to the popularization of Georgian wines in the US.

The US is a high-cost market for Georgian wines where 1 litre costs USD 6 on average.

In January-July of this year, up to 710,000 litres of wine were exported from Georgia to the USA, which is 44% higher than the same amount last year.
