Temur Kekelidze has been appointed as the Head of the MIA Border Police of Georgia.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia personally introduced the new Head to the agency’s personnel.

From June, 2017 to January, 2018 Temur Kekelidze was the Acting Director of the Department of Security Policy and Euro-Atlantic Integration under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. In 2016-2017, he was the Deputy Director at the same Department. In 2012-2016 Temur Kekelidze was the Deputy Head of the mission of Georgia to NATO. In 2007-2012 he worked as the Deputy Director of the Political Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and from April, 2006 to October, 2007 he was the Head of the Policy Planning Division at the same Department. From January, 2006 to March, 2006 Temur Kekelidze was the Head of the NATO Division of the Security Policy and Euro-Atlantic Integration Department. In 2005-2006 he was the assistant of the National Security Council Secretary and in 2004-2005 he was the Deputy Director of the Defence Development Department. From April, 2003 to August, 2003 Temur Kekelidze was the Head of the Multilateral Cooperation Division of the Defence Policy and International Relations Department under the Ministry of Defence. From October, 2002 to April, 2003 he was the Head of NATO Unit at the same department and in 2001-2003 the specialist of the unit.

In 2004, Temur Kekelidze got a Master’s degree in Global Security Sciences at the Royal Military College of Science, Cranfield University (Great Britain). In 2001, he graduated from the Post Graduate School of the Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (Specialization – History of Georgia) and earlier in 1997 – the faculty of History at the Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
