Organized by the non-governmental organization Eastern European Centre for Multiparty Democracy (EECMD), the Democracy Festival was held in Telavi city of the eastern Kakheti region of Georgia.
Opposition leaders, among them United National Movement (UNM) party Chair Tina Bokuchava, Unity leader Giorgi Vashadze and leaders of the Strong Georgia coalition, Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze participated in the event.
According to Tina Bokuchava, Democracy Festival gives the opportunity to citizens to get familiarized with pre-election programs of different parties.
“It is important to participate in such activities in a multiparty format for citizens to see that political parties can cooperate and work together over democracy strengthening. This is the expectation in society today, and we, the politicians must respond to that,” said Tina Bokuchava.
Democracy Festival was held in Tsalenjikha, the Samegrelo region on July 27.
