Tbilisi Mayor responsibly states no rubber bullets were used on Rustaveli Avenue last night
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announces that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has already launched a probe into the events that developed on Rustaveli Avenue on May 1 to investigate where and how several rally participants were injured.
The Mayor answered the question of whether police used rubber bullets against demonstrators, saying no such instance occurred on Rustaveli Avenue, and this information is false.
“The Interior Ministry made a statement on this issue. I declare with full responsibility that no rubber bullets were used. However, a corresponding statement would have been made if necessary. As for the facts of injuries to citizens at the rally, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has already launched a probe. There were some unavailable on the local market means at the rally, and their origin is yet to be determined. Things will be clear, and all the culprits will be held accountable. It will also be determined where and how these individuals sustained their injuries,” said Kakha Kaladze.
