Tbilisi City Hall has issued traffic restrictions on May 17 which marks the Day of Family Purity and Respect for Parents.
A procession from Kashuteti St. George Church to Holy Trinity Cathedral will start at midday, limiting traffic on Rustaveli Avenue, the stretch of road between Gia Chanturia Street and Freedom Square.
The road section between Kote Abkhazi and Shalva Dadiani streets to Freedom Square will also be closed to traffic.
During the closure of Baratashvili Street, vehicles will be allowed to get to Freedom Square via the right bank of the Mtkvari River and Kote Abkhazi Street.
As for public transport, buses and minibuses will move from Chanturia Street to Virsaladze Street.
Earlier today, May 17 was designated as a public holiday across Georgia after Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze signed a decree.
