Tbilisi City Hall has announced temporary traffic restrictions due to a protest near Tbilisi State University.

“Due to ongoing protests near Tbilisi State University, traffic is temporarily restricted in several areas: Varaziskhevi to Kekelidze Street; Kekelidze Street to Melikishvili Avenue; Chavchavadze Avenue to Melikishvili Street.

Vehicles can access Chavchavadze Avenue via Avalishvili and Tamarashvili Streets. During this period, traffic on Chavchavadze Avenue is redirected through Abashidze, Paliashvili, Melikishvili, and Vasil Barnovi Streets. Vehicles heading towards Melikishvili Street can use Barnovi and Petriashvili Streets.

The public transport routes have also been adjusted. Buses and minibuses from Vake Park will connect to Kazbegi Avenue, Pekini Avenue, and Heroes Square, proceeding along the right bank to Rustaveli Avenue via Mikheil Javakhishvili Street before returning to their standard routes. Buses N385, N387, and N397 will temporarily suspend service,” Tbilisi City Hall states.
