Tbilisi City Court rules administrative arrest to civic activist Nata Peradze over defacing St. Matrona icon
The Tbilisi City Court has ruled a five-day administrative arrest on charges of petty hooliganism to civil activist Nata Peradze over the case for throwing paint at the St. Matrona icon depicting late Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin at the Holy Trinity Cathedral.
The Tbilisi City Court’s press service informed GPB First Channel that the judge found her guilty of petty hooliganism under Article 166(1) of Georgia’s Code of Administrative Offenses.
Nata Peradze today received a judge’s decision on administrative detention.
The case pertains to Peradze throwing paint and defacing the Saint Matrona icon in the Holy Trinity Cathedral. Peradze later published a video of the act on January 9.
