Tamar Chugoshvili – MIA will use Kutaisi parliament building as hub
Tamar Chugoshvili, First Vice-Speaker of Parliament confirmed the information that the Georgian parliament will continue legislative activities in Tbilisi starting January of 2019.
According to Chugoshvili, the parliament building in Kutaisi will not remain without a function and will be handed over to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), which will use it as a certain hub.
“We have been leading discussions about the parliament building for a long time. There are several arguments regarding the decision. Working in two buildings is difficult and at the same time connected to expenses,” Chugoshvili stated.
The parliament building in Kutaisi will presumably be handed over to Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). The ministry will reportedly allocate several units in the building including Police Academy and Information Center -112.
