Tamar Chugoshvili -- The competition for the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia does not require consultations
The announcement about the competition for the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia does not require consultations and meetings – The First Deputy Chairperson of Parliament Tamar Chugoshvili stated today.
The President intends to open contest on the selection of a candidate, so it is confusing, what these consultations serve.
The legislation and constitution determine how the chairperson of the Supreme Court should be. They will conduct the process, represent the candidate and then the parliament will join.
Hopefully, our task is to find a worthy person who will be able to play a positive role in overcoming the problems that exist within the judiciary system – Chugoshvili noted.
