On May 10, 2024, at 17:00, the deadline for submission of proposals in the international tender announced by Anaklia Sea Port LLC for the implementation of marine design and construction works of Anaklia Port concluded.
Anaklia Sea Port LLC announced the international tender on March 15, 2024, following the procurement procedures of the World Bank. The tender documentation was sent to four major companies: Boskalis, DEME, Jan De Nul, and Van Oord, all of which have extensive experience in designing and executing marine works.
The session of the tender commission was chaired by Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Guram Guramishvili, and Zurab Sichinava, director of “Anaklia Seaport” LLC, was also present on the commission. The commission publicly opened the tender proposals submitted by the bidders. Of the four companies that received tender documents, three participated in the tender.
According to the tender documents, invited bidders were required to submit proposals comprising technical and financial parts.
Given the complexity and specificity of the project, the bidders requested an extension of the deadline for submission of tender proposals, which was granted until May 10, 2024.
Under the two-envelope procurement procedure, only the technical proposal envelope was opened at the May 10 commission meeting. The commission will review and assess the submitted proposals to determine the winner based on the highest overall score (technical and financial proposal scores).
“The construction of Anaklia deep-water port is a priority project for the Georgian Government and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. The commission and relevant agencies are making every effort to commence the project on time. Today, the acceptance of proposals for the construction of the Anaklia deep-water port was completed. Three companies submitted proposals for marine works, which were publicly opened. Shortly, the commission will work with the consultant to identify the winner,” said Guram Guramishvili.
