Strong Georgia leader outlines nine points agreed with For Georgia's Gakharia

Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of the Lelo party and a member of the Strong Georgia coalition, revealed nine points of agreement reached with For Georgia party leader Giorgi Gakharia during discussions aimed at forming a potential alliance.

Khazaradze summarized their consensus as follows:

1. The coalition will run in the parliamentary elections under number 9 (the Strong Georgia coalition’s designation) and continue the effort to rescue a European path based on the President’s proposed Georgian Charter action plan.
2. It is agreed that no coalition will be formed with the Georgian Dream (GD) party; instead, the future government will be developed through active consultations with the President.
3. Giorgi Gakharia will not appear on the electoral list of Strong Georgia, and Mamuka Khazaradze is prepared to make a similar move (if necessary, both leaders will be included on the list).
4. The political teams of Khazaradze and Gakharia will equally share mandates, while other mandates will be allocated to other coalition members (e.g., 10 mandates each for Lelo and Gakharia, with details to be finalized).
5. Both parties will align Gakharia’s party program priorities with those of Strong Georgia and support the key messages during the election campaign, including the Anaklia Port construction.
6. They will endeavour to complete the Anaklia Project with the involvement of Western partners.
7. An independent Prosecutor’s Office will probe into the events of June 20 and the correspondence between Khazaradze and Gakharia.
8. A special council will be established to address strategic issues, ensuring equal representation from Khazaradze and Gakharia’s teams as well as other coalition members.
9. The management council will consist of 12 members each from Gakharia and Khazaradze, with one additional vote allocated based on the number of coalition partners from both sides (not exceeding six individuals), resulting in a structure of 12 from Gakharia, 12 from Lelo, and 3 representatives from each coalition.

Earlier, Mamuka Khazaradze had addressed the unsuccessful negotiations regarding a potential alliance with Giorgi Gakharia’s For Georgia party.

On Friday, Gakharia outlined three conditions for continuing unity negotiations with Khazaradze: 1. Establishing a neutral platform if unity is forged with the Strong Georgia coalition; 2. Ensuring fair parity in decision-making; 3. Prohibiting any coalitions with both the Georgian Dream and United National Movement parties.
