“The Strategy Aghmashenebeli and United National Movement (UNM) support unified election lists, but it does not mean the opposition’s defeat if this is not achieved,” said Paata Manjgaladze, a member of the Strategy Aghmashenebeli party.
According to Paata Manjgaladze, the Strategy Aghmashenebeli and the UNM will do their best to ensure the unification of opposition parties.
“If they want the creation of two centres, let it be so. However, the Victory Coalition, the Strategy Aghmashenebeli and the UNM will do their best to form a union of the opposition parties. Why? The main aim is not to stand next to someone, the main objective is not to have votes beyond the election threshold and the Georgian Dream to win at this expense. Larger unifications are for victory. I wish Mamuka Khazaradze (Lelo leader) success and not to remain beyond the barrier,” he said.
Lelo leader Mamuka Khazaradze said: “I don’t believe in a unified election list. We continue to work on the establishment of an alternative centre that will be without the United National Movement.”
