State Security Service detained Chief of Staff of 6th Artillery Brigade "S-3" on the fact of bribe-taking
The officers of the Anti-corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, in cooperation with the general inspection under the Ministry of Defence of Georgia detained S.B., Chief of Staff of the 6th Artillery Brigade “S-3” of the Western Command of the Defense Forces of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia on the fact of bribe-taking.
“The investigation established that S.B demanded a bribe of USD 2500 from a Citizen of Georgia, having taken the amount of USD 1000 in advance, in return for getting a job at the Ministry of Defence of Georgia, passing the norms in physical training and participating in the international mission of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
Investigation on the fact of bribe-taking is in progress (Article 338, Part I of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages from 6 to 9 years of imprisonment.) Investigation is carried out by the Anti-corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia” – the statement released by the State Security Service reads.
