State Inspector’s Service to launch probe into alleged ex-president’s inhuman treatment

The Investigation Department of the State Inspector’s Service launched a probe into the alleged inhuman treatment of jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili.

The Service said it reacted upon the notification of the Georgian Public Defender and the information released in the media and social networks.

The State Inspector’s Service further noted that it would cooperate with the ex-president and his lawyers within the investigation.

In a letter, the jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili, who was transferred to N18 Gldani prison infirmary from N12 Rustavi Prison last evening, said the prison employees dragged him out from the car by force, fetched by the hair and hit him in the neck several times.
