State flags fly at half mast over 16th anniversary of 2008 war

In commemoration of the 16th anniversary of the 2008 Russia-Georgia war and to honour the memory of those who lost their lives, the state flag has been lowered on the building of the Government Administration of Georgia.

By order of the Government of Georgia, in tribute to the heroes who perished during the large-scale military intervention conducted by the Russian Federation in Georgia, aimed at the illegal occupation of the regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali, state flags have been lowered on all administrative buildings across the country and at Georgia’s diplomatic missions abroad.
