SSG Head says he denied U.S. citizen Marshall Comins's entry to Georgia

The head of Georgia’s State Security Service, Grigol Liluashvili, on Thursday, confirmed that he denied U.S. citizen Marshall Comins’s entry to Georgia, citing “specific information from highly reliable sources.”

He went on to say that “his activities were related to the 7-8 March rallies, when he was active in training and instructing disruptive groups.”

SSG Head added the U.S. Embassy did not contact the agency over the entry refusal. “They most likely understand why.”

Liluashvili also mentioned the late Peter Ackerman, ICNC’s Founding Chair, saying, “If he were still alive, he would be barred from entering.”

Asked about the links between U.S. Departments’ move to sanction four Georgian judges and American citizens’ entry refusals, Liluashvili said: “I cannot tell you whether the sanctions are directly related to the entry rejection, ask the American side.”
