As part of the ongoing investigation under the articles of Terrorism and Conspiracy, the State Security Service continues to interrogate witnesses.
Ali Khangoshvili and Giorgi Kushtanashvili have already entered the agency for questioning. They did not respond to media inquiries and denied involvement in the case, stating they had no information on why they were summoned.
More than 15 individuals have been interviewed as witnesses since the active investigative activities began over a week ago. Some interrogations occurred attended by a magistrate judge in the city court. Among the interviewees are Georgians fighting in Ukraine and business people. Details are still unknown, but the number of people to be questioned is expected to increase.
The inquiry focuses on the alleged preparation of a terrorist act and a conspiracy to overthrow the government, as outlined in Articles 18-323 and 315 of the Civil Code of Georgia.
The case involves allegations of a planned assassination of Bidzina Ivanishvili, the honorary chairman of the Georgian Dream party, reportedly organized and financed by former high-ranking Georgian officials and law enforcement personnel now in Ukraine.
