Speaker welcomes all countries supporting Georgia's EU candidate status
“We welcome all countries which support granting EU candidate status to Georgia since Georgia has been oppressed by not having the status for a year,” said Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.
The Speaker remarked on the article published by Rikard Jozwiak, the Europe editor for RFE/RL in Prague, which reads that Hungary will support Ukraine’s joining the European Union if other countries agree to grant Georgia the EU candidate status.
According to Shalva Papuashvili, Georgia leads among the Associated Trio countries, and while the other two countries have the status, Georgian people “suffer from an unjust decision.”
“Therefore, the more countries oppose the injustice, the better,” he added.
