Speaker: UNM openly and others covertly advocate for pressure on President, in essence, this is coordinated game
The National Movement openly advocates for pressure on Salome Zourabichvili, while others engage in covert strategies. In essence, this is not mere pressure; it is a coordinated game, stated the Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.
Papuashvili believes the Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili keeps her position thanks to the United National Movement (UNM) party.
“I suspect they are laying the groundwork for Mikheil Saakashvili’s [Georgia’s ex-President] pardon. It is evident in the statements made by the UNM and certain foreign actors, including the recent resolution from the European Parliament. The stage is being set for another political spectacle in the form of this pardon, introducing an additional factor in the radicalization of politics overall,” he added.
